Order dried mangoes - gebana.com

Mango

We source our certified organic dried mango through our subsidiary company gebana Burkina Faso directly from family farmers in the Hauts-Bassins and Cascades Regions of Burkina Faso. 

All processing is done locally at our HACCP-certified facility in Bobo-Dioulasso.

ORIGIN: Burkina Faso

THE PRODUCT: The fruit is dried but not brittle, with a firm bite. All our dried mango doesn't contain sulphur or added sugar.

VARIETIES:

  • Amélie (orange colour, slightly sour)
  • Brooks (yellowish-beige colour, sweet and sour)
  • Lippens (yellow colour, honey sweet)

AVAILABLE CUTS: Full or half strips/slices, pieces/diced, 2nd grade industrial quality

VOLUMES: 1000 MT per year

CERTIFICATIONS: EU Organic, BioSuisse, USDA Organic, FLO Fairtrade, HACCP, Kosher

Producers and supply chain

PRODUCERS

Grown by 1603 family farmers on an average of 1.8 ha in the Hauts-Bassins and Cascades Regions of Burkina Faso.

CULTIVATION

Organic, non-irrigated, manually harvested during the main season from March to July.

 -
PROCESSING

After harvesting, the fruits are prepared and sliced before being dried in gas ovens at around 70 °C for 20–24 hours. Once dried, the mango pieces are cooled, checked for quality and packed for export.

PURCHASING & LOGISTICS

Purchasing from cooperatives and family farmers straight from the farm since 2001. Transport: straight from the farm to Bobo-Dioulasso by lorry, by lorry to Abidjan, by container ship to Rotterdam, by lorry to our warehouse in Nijkerk.
