We measure our impact
Impact lies at the heart of our company. We measure it through more than 150 sustainability KPIs showing how our actions translate into real change.
We work every day to make trade fairer. At gebana, this means higher incomes for family farmers, local job creation, and a resilient local economy, while protecting the environment. This is what we call impact.
For 2024, we reported the following key figures:
premiums paid to family farmers – including FLO and gebana premiums from sales generated on the gebana online shop (+ 4.5 % vs 2023)
family farmers supply directly the whole gebana Group
employees worldwide, 96 % of which in the Global South
of our turnover comes from organic certified products
of sales certified Fairtrade
invested by the gebana group in 2024, 93 % in the Global South
The investments referred to here are the fixed assets invested in the South. They are calculated as a percentage of the total balance sheet. Absorbed losses include restructuring, depreciation and donations to companies in the South. The sharp increase in new investments in the South in 2024 is due to the construction of our new factory in Burkina Faso.
Our data comes from subsidiaries in Burkina Faso and Togo, partners in Brazil and Tunisia, certification bodies, and annual audits. All numbers are verified and published annually.
